From Private Secretary to Office Manager my career spans the development of office technology: from manual to IBM Golfball typewriters that could be `programmed’ for multiple copies of a letter using a magnetic card. Communication around the world via teletypers led to fax machines. As a mature student my Media Studies culminated in a dissertation entitled Viewdata: Public or Private and somewhat ironically in 1990 I worked for one of the earliest UK internet providers.
But the artist in me was awakened joining a multi player online virtual world, where I created an art gallery and “dressed my dolly” for an addictive 8 years. Since retiring I use various technologies to design embroideries, but mostly I sit threaded needle in one hand and embroidery frame in the other.
